Welcome to KDS Dream Boers!
We are Kevin & Diona, our kids, Bailey and Keagen are in 4-H and enjoy showing and selling goats and sheep! We are located in Kennewick, WA on 5 acres in a rural community called Finley (just east of Kennewick). We purchased this land and home in May of 2002 and started with a few Suffolk ewes and started growing! In the spring of 2003 we acquired our first goat and fell in love, since then we have been raising dairy and pygmies, plus our sheep. In the early spring of 2006, we decided that Boer goats were the path that we wanted to take. I sold off quite a few of my dairy and pygmy stock and started looking around for some quality registered and commercial boers. So here we are! We still have the sheep and a few dairy, but have cut down on their numbers in order to increase our Boers. There is still alot to learn, but we are commited to increase our knowledge and learn to bred a better quality boer.
UPDATES>>>As of May 1, 2008, we are officially out of the sheep business, the ewes and ram have been sold! It was a fun and great learning experience and now I am looking forward to moving on with our goats.
On that note ~ Bailey has decided that she wants to start raising Nigerian goats. In February 2008 she purchased a pregnant Nigerian from Andrea Green. "Libby" kidded in March with 2 adorable doelings! April 25, 2008 she purchased 2 registered does and a buckling from Jen Tarlton. So, Bailey is well on her way! I am very excited for her, I have added a page to my website for her. She has her membership in with the American Goat Society and American Dairy Goat Association. Bailey's farm name is "Bay's Dream Goats".
We will also start adding Mini Oberhaslis to our group. I currently have two American Oberhaslis, we have bred them to Bailey's Nigerian Buck, Maverick and anxiously await their arrival in February 2009.
Sept. 09 ~ Well we had our mini Oberhaslis born and what joy they are! Sarina had a single buckling, with more white than I wanted, but for 1st gen, he is acceptable. Very handsome and quick growth; he is for sale. Penny had two little doelings, both will remain in our herd. We also purchased 4 standard Oberhaslis; three of which were pregnant and gave us 5 more 1st gen mini's; 2 doelings and 3 bucklings! The bucklings are all correctly marked and for sale. During the spring and summer, Bailey added quite nicely to her herd of Nigerians. She had 8 nigie kids born, of which she kept 2 doelings, purchased a doeling and a buckling from Tom Osborne, a pregnant Visa was purchased from Sara Freeman (Visa gave her two doelings in July), Walla Walla and her two doe kids were purchased from Andrea Green. Bailey is very excited with all her nigies; pictures of all will be up soon.
Please Enjoy Your Stay ~ and Thank You for stopping by to take a look
